WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY?
Homeopathy is a system of natural healthcare that has been used worldwide for over 200 years. It was pioneered by a German physician - Samual Hahnemann - in the 18th century, and is currently used by millions of people worldwide.
Homeopathic remedies encourage the body to gently stimulate healing. It is holistic, that is, it treats the whole person, and puts the patient at the centre of their healthcare. Therefore, your treatment will be tailored to you as an individual, and to your unique symptom presentation.

HOW DOES HOMEOPATHY WORK?
Homeopathy is based on the principle of 'like cures like' - known as The Law of Similars. This states that a substance that can cause an illness, can also relieve it. An example would be the use of a remedy such as Urtica Urens, made from stinging nettles, which is given homeopathically to treat conditions such as itchy red skin rashes, or urticaria.

WHAT ARE REMEDIES MADE FROM?
Remedies are made from plant, chemical, mineral or animal sources, and are prepared by specialist pharmacies. The original material is diluted and succussed (shaken vigorously), and the number of times this is repeated determines the strength or 'potency'. Only minute amounts of active ingredients are used in their preparation, and they are generally considered safe for babies, children and during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
WHAT CAN HOMEOPATHY BE USED TO TREAT?
Homeopathy can help with a multitude of acute and chronic conditions. It is fully compatible with other forms of alternative and conventional treatment.
You are encouraged to stay in contact with any mainstream healthcare professionals that you see, and to continue taking medicine prescribed by a doctor.
HOW LONG WILL TREATMENT TAKE?
Although homeopathy can work very quickly in acute situations, it is not an instant cure for more chronic complaints.
Depending on the severity of your symptoms, and how long you have been experiencing them, you may need only 1 or 2 sessions, or you may need a longer course of treatment.Â
Consider your healing journey as just that, and allow time. The reward for this is a greater sense of well-being and optimism, knowing that you can make beneficial changes in your life to improve your health.
HOW DO I TAKE REMEDIES?
It is important that your palate is clean, so take nothing by mouth for 10-20 minutes prior to, or following, taking a remedy. This includes food, drink, cigarettes and toothpaste.Â
Place the remedy on or under the tongue and allow it to dissolve.
Only the patient should touch the remedy.
